ALBANY – Governor Andrew Cuomo is directing that flags on State government buildings be flown at half-staff today in honor of Command Sgt. Major Wardell Benjamin Turner, who died this past Monday in Afghanistan.
Turner died on Monday, Nov. 24 from wounds suffered when his vehicle was hit by a vehicle-borne IED in Kabul. Turner, a resident of Nanticoke, Maryland, was assigned to the Headquarters, United States Army Garrison at Fort Drum in New York.
