According to a media release, Chautauqua County Sheriff deputies responded to a call of a vehicle in the ditch on Water Street in the Town of Kiantone at about 6:25 a.m. Monday morning.
On arrival it was discovered that a 17 year-old male, whose name is not being release, was operating the vehicle and had fled and left a 15 year old female passenger at the accident scene. It was further learned that the 17 year-old male had unlawfully taken the vehicle from a residence in the Frewsburg area without permission from the vehicle owner.
The 17 year old male was located at a residence in Frewsburg a short time later and physically resisted arrest when deputies attempted to take him into custody.
