Route 394 in Town of Poland Closed to Traffic Following Multi-vehicle Accident

October 30, 2017 By WRFA Leave a Comment

FALCONER – A portion of Route 394 between Falconer and Kennedy was closed to traffic on Friday following a four-vehicle crash.

Chautauqua County Sheriff Deputies say 21 year-old Nicholas Hettenbaugh of Kennedy was operating a farm semi-truck carrying yard waste on Waterboro Hill Road when his engine reportedly shut off, which caused his brakes to malfunction. The vehicle then went through the intersection with Route 394, striking three other vehicles before overturning in the roadway.

No injuries were reported from the collisions. Hettenbaugh was charged with traffic related charges.

The roadway was closed for about four hours as the Chautauqua County HAZMAT and various local fire departments worked to clean up the scene.
