Jamestown Man Charged for Selling Meth in North Harmony

October 4, 2016 By WRFA Radio 1 Comment

Chautauqua County SheriffNORTH HARMONY – A Jamestown man has been arrested for selling a large amount of methamphetamine to undercover police.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office says that members of the Southern Tier Region Drug Task Force arrested 61 year-old James Bess Jr. on Sunday, Oct. 2 just before 2 p.m. at a location on Stow Rd. in the Town of N. Harmony.

Investigators claim that Bess sold over an ounce of methamphetamine to an undercover police officer.

Following the sale and arrest, police searched Bess’s home at 824 Cherry Street in Jamestown and found an additional 3 ounces of methamphetamine, as well as a large quantity of money and scales that are used to weigh the methamphetamine.

Bess faces multiple charges and was sent to the county jail on $100,000 cash bail.
