The region’s new representative in Washington will hold his first four town halls in the newly-drawn 23rd Congressional district this weekend, with three taking place in Chautauqua County.
Congressman Tom Reed (R-Corning) will hold Town hall meetings in the Hanover Town Hall at 8 a.m., the Westfield Village Hall at 10:30 a.m. and the Carroll Town Hall at 1 p.m.
The Corning Republican says the conversations that take place in the public town halls are central to representing the district and he always welcomes the conversation, adding that the topics are up to residents.
During Reed’s two-year term as Congressman for the 29th District, he held more than 75 public town hall meetings, and has pledged to do the same in the 23rd District.
The newly-drawn 23rd District includes the counties of Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Chemung, Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins and Yates.
