JAMESTOWN – The Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services is pleased to announce a new look at its offices at 110 E. Fourth St. in Jamestown that is aimed toward improving front door service for the public.

On February 15, the Central Intake area, formerly located on the second floor of the building, relocated to the basement level, which was the location of the former Department of Motor Vehicles.  This move offers a new and improved access point for front end service delivery.

“This is a huge improvement in our ability to warmly welcome community members that we serve in a more efficient and streamlined way,” said Christine Schuyler, Commissioner of the Department of Health and Human Services.

The newly renovated Central Intake area will serve as the central service access point for the Department of Health and Human Services, which includes Temporary Assistance, Medicaid, Child Support, and Children and Family Services.  It can be accessed by entering from the Pine Street entrance or the first floor entrance. While the previous second floor entrance on East Fourth Street will no longer serve as a public entrance, the first floor entrance near The Chautauqua Center will continue to serve as the handicapped accessible entrance.
