JAMESTOWN – Prizes will be awarded to all 10 of the top scorers in the James Prendergast Library’s Scrabble tournament scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18.
The first-place winner will receive a Kindle Fire HD; second-place, a Scrabble Deluxe Wood Edition; third place, a Scrabble Diamond Deluxe; and fourth through 10 Scrabble Dictionary. Prizes were made possible through donations from various local businesses and library supporters.
Everyone will play two 45-minute rounds, with three minutes for each turn. After their scores are totaled, the top 10 players will challenge each other in a “death round.”
Sign-ups are being accepted at the Prendergast Library Information Desk. People can also register the morning of the tournament in the Fireplace Room.
Admission is $15 to benefit the library, and refreshments will also be available for sale. Funds raised by the event will be used to provide library materials and services. For information, call 484-7135.
