IRVING – An Angola man is in the county jail on $40,000 bail after he allegedly assaulted a nurse at Lake Shore Hospital in Irving.
Chautauqua County Sheriff deputies say the incident took place just before 8 p.m. Monday when deputies were called to Lake Shore Hospital for report of a disorderly male subject. Investigators say 25 year-old Thomas Schmid Jr. of Angola struck a registered nurse at the hospital with a closed fist causing physical injury. The altercation also led to property belonging to the nurse to be damaged.
Schmid was taken into custody and charged with Assault 2nd, Criminal Mischief 3rd, Harassment 2nd, and Disorderly Conduct.
