May 24, 2012 By WRFA Radio Leave a Comment

JAMESTOWN – A Jamestown man was killed Tuesday night after he was riding his motorcycle and collided with an SUV. City police say 20 year-old Jacob Crawford, 20 died at WCA Hospital as a result of injuries sustained when the motorcycle he was operating was struck by a vehicle making a turn.

The incident took place at about 11 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of East Eighth Street and Prendergast Avenue. Crawford was riding his bike east on Eighth Street when a 2005 Ford Escape traveling west on Eighth Street made a left-hand turn into the path of the motorcycle.  The Chautauqua County Accident Reconstruction Team also responded to the scene. The investigation  into the accident is continuing.

A memorial for Crawford was held at the scene of the accident last night, with more than 300 people on hand, including members of his family.
