JAMESTOWN – The Homeless Coalition of Chautauqua County will host the Memorial for Homeless Persons tonight at St. Susan Center, located in the Gateway Center, 31 Water St., Jamestown.
The event will feature guest speakers Walt and Nancy Pickut of Jamestown. Ed McCarthy, planning and special project coordinator from the mayor’s office, will also be on hand to proclaim Dec. 21 as National Homeless Persons Memorial Day. Advocates, friends, community leaders and service providers hope to bring attention to the need for more resources and support. The National Homeless Persons Memorial Day is organized by the National Coalition for the Homeless and is sponsored by the local Homeless Coalition.
