Police Offer New Information on Missing Jamestown Man

March 12, 2012 By WRFA Radio 1 Comment

JAMESTOWN – A Jamestown man who has been missing since Jan. 22 may have been involved in a two-car accident in the town of Kiantone the night he disappeared. That’s according to the Jamestown Police Department, who say a witness was driving on Route 62 near Riverside Rd. in Kiantone and noticed a man who resembled 48 year old Michael Whitehill sitting in a disabled vehicle just before 11 p.m. that night. Whitehill has not been seen or heard by his family since.

Police noted Whitehill’s vehicle, a green 1996 Pontiac Firebird with damage to its hood and driver’s side, was found abandoned near that sighting later that same night.  Investigators believe Whitehill may have walked away from his vehicle or been picked up or seen by another person driving down Riverside Road.

Investigators are urging anyone who may have any information about Whitehill or about how Whitehill’s car was damaged to call the Jamestown Police Department’s anonymous tip line at 483-8477.
