WEST ELLICOTT – A new occupant of the former SAMS club location on Fairmount avenue has been identified.
Runnings, a retail store focusing on home, farm and outdoor products, announced over the weekend it will open two New York stores including one in West Ellicott.
In a statement, the Marshall, Minnesota based company said the Jamestown location will provide an estimated 70 new jobs when it takes over the 115,000 square foot former Sam’s Club building.
Sam’s Club in Jamestown closed in early 2018 as part of a nationwide move by Walmart to shudder dozens of its under-performing stores.
The store is expected to open later this year and officials say job positions available for application will be posted at www.runnings.com/careers by June 1.
