DEWITTVILLE -A crash involving a vehicle and an Amish buggy in the town of Chautauqua sent one person to the hospital Sunday afternoon.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office says the accident took place on Burdick Rd. in Dewittville when a vehicle driven by 58-year-old Timothy Brown came to a curve in the road and lost control on the slippery road conditions. The vehicle then slid into a occupied by 44 year-old Elizabeth Pyler and 16 year-old Jon Pyler that was heading in the opposite direction.
Hartfield firefighters treated Elizabeth Pyler and transported her to Westfield Memorial Hospital. Jon Pyler was not hurt. Deputies say wintry weather combined with unsafe speed led to the accident. Brown was ticketed for speed not reasonable and prudent.
