Soul of Flamenco was created 30 years ago and the Jamestown show is the first in the North East and East Coast of the United States. It is also the first of two world arts shows this winter at The Reg. On March 8, Irish music group, Caladh Nua will perform.

On Monday, February 23 at 6 p.m., the company will offer a free Flamenco Master Class to students of all ages on The Reg stage. The master class is sold out but the public is invited to stop by the theater and watch from the audience.

Soul of Flamenco touches on the universal themes of Pride, Passion, Love, and Sorrow, striking a chord with audiences of all ages, cultural backgrounds and arts experiences. Flamenco Vivo describe their performance as “..an expression of feeling, a community built on emotions and expressing the vital essence that lives within each of us. These universal emotions are shared across time and physical boundaries, and are the foundation of Flamenco.”

Flamenco Vivo is known for the purity of its work and the unique and creative way in which it has enriched the art of flamenco. Director, Carlota Santana has been designated “The Keeper of Flamenco” by Dance Magazine in recognition of her commitment to creating new works and developing young artists and choreographers. Most recently, Ms. Santana was honored by the Government of Spain with La Cruz de la Orden al Merito Civil for “all the years of excellence and dedication to the flamenco art.”

Tickets are priced from $25 to $45 with children aged 12 years and younger admitted at half the ticket price. Select $10 seats are available in the first two rows for patrons aged 13 to 30 years old. Several seats in the upper balcony are priced at $5 for children and $10 for adults. Soul of Flamenco is sponsored by Comfort Inn of Jamestown.
