POMFRET – Authorities in northern Chautauqua County are investigating the death of an 18-year-old after his body was found in a creek bed Thursday afternoon.
New York State Police in Fredonia say 18 year-old Jacob Schuk was apparently accidentally fell into the creek bed off Spoden Road – near Route 60 –at about noon on Thursday. Authorities say he fell about 25 feet.
The Fredonia Fire Department first responded to the call and the state police and coroner were called to the scene a couple hours later.
Police say the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
