Stockton Teen Seriously Injured in Overnight Auto Accident

July 13, 2012 By WRFA Radio Leave a Comment

STOCKTON – A Stockton Teenager was rushed to an Erie Hospital early this morning after being involved in a one-vehicle accident in Stockton. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office says 17 year-old Brenden Winder was traveling along Barnes Road at an apparent high rate of speed when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Deputies arrived on scene and found Winder was badly injured and trapped in his vehicle.

Deputies were able to gain access into the vehicle and provide aid to Winder until EMS personnel arrived. Members of the Stockton Fire Department used the jaws of life to remove Winder from the vehicle. Due to the seriousness of his injuries, The Starflight Helicopter was sent to the scene and flew Winder to the Hamot Medical Center in Erie for further treatment.

As a result of an investigation, Winder will face charges of driving while intoxicated, speed not reasonable, fail to stay in lane, fail to keep right, and driving after 9 p.m. on a junior license.
