WRFA Partners with Chautauqua Health Network

September 6, 2011 By WRFA Radio Leave a Comment

From September 2011 through August 2012 WRFA-LP radio (107.9 FM) will be partnering with the Chautauqua County Health Network to help help spread the word about the Creating Healthy Places to Live initiative.

Chautauqua County Creating Healthy Places to Live, Work, and Play (CHP) is a five year initiative funded by the New York State Department of Health to prevent obesity, type 2 diabetes, and other chronic diseases. Work is underway to address the ongoing need for sustainable policy, environment, and systems changes to support better physical and nutritional health.

WRFA will have several Public Service Announcements playing throughout the year, along with special weekly features. In addition, we’ll have members of the Chautauqua Health Network on the air during our local programs, including Community Matters and Small Things Considered. WRFA will also be on location covering and recording any community forums CCHN holds from September through August.

To learn more about the “Creating Healthy Places to Live” initiative, visist the program’s homepage or listen to WRFA LP in the coming weeks and months as we bring more details about this important program to our listeners.
