According to the Jamestown Post-Journal, Alberto Acevedo was facing a charge of first-degree robbery. If convicted, he could have been sentenced to up to 25 years in prison.
City police charged Acevedo after he reportedly robbed a Rainbow Cab driver at knife-point during the early morning of April 20, 2017.
His trial began April 3 and ended Wednesday with the jury acquittal.
According to the DA’s office, the jury didn’t believe the cab driver beyond a reasonable doubt.
