JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Board of Public Utility workers were busy Monday night trying to repair a 10-inch water main break in the downtown.
According to BPU spokesperson Becky Robbins, water customers should be aware that system-wide discolored water can be expected due to the break, which was discovered at about 9 p.m. Monday Night after several customers reported low water pressure.
The BPU was able to shut down water in the affected area within an hour, restoring pressure to customers outside the area of the main break.
Once water is restored Tuesday morning, water customers throughout the BPU water system may experience discolored water for 12-18 hours.
