ELLINGTON – A Cattaraugus County man died Friday in a one-car crash in Chautauqua County.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office say 43 year-old Paul Newell of Coldspring was the passenger in the vehicle that crashed shortly after 11 a.m. Friday on Gerry-Ellington Road in Gerry.
Newell was reportedly ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The operator of the vehicle was identified as 41 year-old James Newell, of Coldspring. He was flown to UPMC Hamot in Erie for treatment of serious but not life-threatening injuries.
An investigation into the crash was ongoing.
