ALBANY – Governor Andrew Cuomo on Monday also announced that $4.4 million will be awarded to communities across New York to protect critical infrastructure, increase rescue team capabilities, and bring tactical response team capabilities in line with the state standards.
Locally, Chautauqua County will receive $99,520 from the competitive Technical Rescue and Urban Search and Rescue Grant Program. The maximum amount the county could receive from the grant was $100,000.
The money will allow local emergency response teams to enhance their rescue-related capabilities related to structural collapse, trench, confined space, waterway, flood, and rope rescue response operations.
