JAMESTOWN – City police have arrested a city man after he allegedly broke into an apartment and stabbed another person in the chest early Friday morning.
Officers accuse 39 year-old Lawrence White broke into an apartment at 246 Willard St. around 2:30 a.m. Friday and stabbed the unidentified victim in the chest while he was sleeping. According to police, the victim and White were not acquaintances.
The victim was reportedly sent to WCA Hospital and later to UPMC Hamot in Erie for his injuries.
White was charged with second-degree burglary and second-degree assault. He was taken to the city jail and awaiting arraignment.
