JAMESTOWN – An annual event that focuses on Downtown Jamestown may not be happening this summer.

The Jamestown Post-Journal is reporting that the future of Motor Mayhem is up in the air, with the news that the Jamestown Renaissance Corporation has opted not to sponsor the annual classic car show, which brings hundreds of classic car and motorcycle enthusiasts to the downtown area on a Friday night in August.

According to the report, the JRC has removed the link to Motor Mayhem on its website and officials confirm that the JRC Board of Directors decided against sponsoring the event after a lengthy discussion.

Motor Mayhem, previously known Downtown Cruisin’, has been an annual event in Downtown Jamestown each summer since 2004.

The event may still be able to take place if another organization is willing to come forward to plan and organize it.

I’m going to miss this event if it’s not picked up by someone? this was a fantastic car cruise, the best! What is the problem this year? You have a good thing going, to have so many people come to town, and not be prepared for the food and whatever else would sell is a big mistake. This event was promoted, but not really prepared for as far as vendors and food goes? You guys miss the boat on that…You should have booked a bib fest to some other food event to go along with this event? The day after your Motor mayhem is the Salamanca Rib fest? and we went to their car show every year after your event…You need someone to better coordinate these things so as to be a better money maker for your city… Food trucks are an up and coming thing up here in Buffalo, and elsewhere?…Just my opinion…vic
