ELLICOTT – State police arrested a Jamestown man on several charges early Tuesday morning after he was found allegedly drunk driving in a stolen vehicle.
Police say they pulled over 49 year-old Rodney Thomas at about 3 a.m. Tuesday on Route 60 in Ellicott, just north of the city line. The reason for being pulled over was that he was driving a vehicle with no license plates on it. After an investigation, it was learned that Thomas had allegedly stolen the car from a Jamestown car dealer. Thomas was also given a blood-alcohol test, which measured 1.4 percent, .06 percent above the legal limit.
He was subsequently charged with felony driving while intoxicated, felony aggravated unlicensed operation, felony possession of stolen property and other traffic violations and is now in the Chautauqua County Jail.
