April 8, 2013 By WRFA Radio Leave a Comment

DUNKIRK – Police in the North County are continuing their search for a man connected to a Friday night Shooting.

According to an article in the Jamestown Post-Journal, Dunkirk Police have issued a warrant for Montel Cooper, who’s wanted for first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree menacing in connection to the shooting incident, which took place at about 10 p.m. Friday night near King and Main streets in the north county city. Upon arrival, officers found an unidentified, 23-year-old Dunkirk man had been shot, although the injury was not life-threatening. The victim was not the intended target of the alleged shooter and was only a bystander.

An investigation found that Cooper was the alleged shooter and fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. He is believed to have shoulder-length dreadlocks at this time and his last known address was 522 Park Ave., Dunkirk. Cooper has ties to Dunkirk and Jamestown areas.

Anyone with information into his whereabouts is asked to call police at 366-2266 or 363-0313.
