MORNING NEWS: Falconer Residents Plan for the Future

November 26, 2012 By WRFA Radio Leave a Comment

Randy Sweeney, Executive Director of the Community Foundation, and Maurice Roach, sign the fund agreement to establish the Falconer Region Community Fund. Community members Brian Nelson, Roland Swanson, Rose Mary Carver and Doris Roach look on.

FALCONER – A group of residents are making sure charitable activity will continue to thrive in the Falconer Region. Recently, they established the Falconer Region Community Fund with the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation. This fund will be unrestricted in nature-meaning the funds for this grants process may be used to benefit a wide variety of charitable projects or needs.

Falconer resident and business owner Maurice Roach helped to spearhead the start of the fund after noticing a lack of younger generations becoming involved in these types of organizations. He is hopeful this fund will provide the necessary financial support that organizations such as the Lion’s Club, Rotary Club and Kiwanis Club provide, if ever they are unable to do so.

For more information on contributing to this fund or for questions on applying for a grant, contact the Community Foundation at 661-3390.
