JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Police are continuing their investigation into the death of a five year old who was hit be a vehicle last Friday while sledding. Officers say 5-year-old Isabella Stanford died Friday night at WCA Hospital after being struck by a car on Foote Avenue. Stanford was reportedly sledding with three other children at a house on Hazzard Street that backs up to Foote Avenue. The sled that she was on went into the busy roadway and she was struck by an SUV just before 6 p.m.
The oldest child in the group was seven years old. Police are not saying who was responsible for supervising the children and the investigation is continuing. No charges are expected to be filed against the driver of the SUV.
