MINA – The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident where a delivery van traveling west on I86 in the Town of Mina was struck by a projectile possibly fired from a rifle from the north side of the road. The incident occurred approximately 3 miles east of the Findley Lake exit. It is believed that someone hunting in the area fired may have fired the shot and unintentionally struck the delivery van. No one was injured. Anyone with information about who may have been hunting in that area is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 753-2131.
