MAYVILLE – Chautauqua County Sheriff Deputies are on the lookout for a man posing as a dog warden in northern Chautauqua County. The Sheriff’s office says it is investigating several incidents in which a man approached several homes and attempted to confiscate or impound their dogs, saying he was the town dog warden. The incidents have reportedly taken place in the towns of Pomfret and Portland.
The man is described as being in his mid 30s and is driving a brown-colored sedan. Police are asking anyone who may have come across the suspicious male to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 753-4232.
