MORNINGS NEWS: JRC Announces New Artwork for Potters Gallery

JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown Renaissance Corporation, in collaboration with Jamestown High School and Tom Mason, recently finished an enhancement project at POTTERS gALLErY – an alley art gallery that originated in Potters Alley between Fourth and Third Streets. Wednesday afternoon, the contributing artists involved with the project were recognized in the parking lot between Mason’s Fine Arts and Dorian’s Plus.

Currently, JHS student artwork currently accounts for 37 of the 49 pieces. JHS Art Teacher Stephanie Baker says the students selected this year, as in year’s past, are thrilled to see their work on display in Potters gallery.

The work will remain on display indefinitely. Jason Stronz of the Jamestown Renaissance Corporation adds that if more funding can be secured, other artwork will be installed on other buildings in that area as well.

WRFA will have a complete recap of the Potters Gallery Exhibit and opening later this month during our Oct. 12 edition of Arts on Fire.
