No One Injured in Weekend Train-Automobile Crash

FREDONIA – A Fredonia women escaped injury after her vehicle was struck by a train early Saturday evening in the town of Pomfret.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the CSX railroad tracks on Berry Rd. in the town of Pomofret at about 5:20 p.m. Saturday for a report of a car/train accident. The driver of the vehicle, 20 year-old Kayla Boedner, allegedly moved a road closed barrier and attempted to cross the tracks when her vehicle became stuck. She left the vehicle after seeing an approaching train, which was unable to stop in time and struck her vehicle

Boedner was issued a traffic ticket for failed to obey a traffic control device and will appear in court at a later date. No injuries were reported.
