JAMESTOWN – Organizers with Occupy Jamestown are announcing a “May Day Comm-UNITY Celebration” at the College Park (also known as “100 Acre Lot”) behind Jamestown Community College. The event will be held on Tuesday, May 1 from 3 to 8 p.m., rain or shine, and is open to everyone in the community. Admission is free.
Internationally, the Occupy movement is calling for a “general strike” on May 1 and there will be various degrees of participation by Occupy groups around the country. Occupy Jamestown has elected to hold a family-friendly celebration of “all the things that make Jamestown a great place to live.”
