November 9, 2015 By WRFA Radio Leave a Comment

Chautauqua County SheriffWESTFIELD, NY – An Ohio man is in police custody after allegedly being involved in a high speed chase on I-90 that started in Pennsylvania and continued on into New York State early Saturday morning.

According to Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a request to assist the Pennsylvania State Police just after 4 a.m. Sunday when they were involved in a vehicle pursuit on I-90 near the Pennsylvania-New York border.  Police say the suspect vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound in the westbound lane on I-90. Pennsylvania police were able to finally get the vehicle stopped on I-90 in the Town of Westfield.

Deputies arrived on scene at which point the driver, identified as 17-year-old  Shamear Hubbard of Richmond Heights, OH, was turned over to the custody of Chautauqua County. Deputies also found that Hubbard was allegedly impaired by alcohol and drugs and they also discovered the vehicle he was driving was stolen out of East Cleveland, Ohio.

Hubbard was charged with unlicensed operator, DWI combination of drugs and alcohol, and possession of stolen property 3rd. He was arraigned in the Town of Westfield Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of Bail. Additional charges are pending in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
