Petitions Now Available for Three Jamestown School Board Seats

Jamestown Public SchoolJAMESTOWN – Petitions for the Jamestown Board of Education Election on May 20, 2014 are now available in the Superintendent’s Office, Jamestown City School District, 197 Martin Road, Jamestown, New York.

There will be three open board seats, each for a three-year term, beginning July 1, 2014. Any individual interested in becoming school board member candidate must submit a completed petition containing the names of 100 or more qualified voters within the school district. These petitions must be received in the Superintendent’s Office by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2014.

To qualify as a candidate, a person must be a citizen of the United States and a registered voter of the Jamestown City School District who has resided in the district for at least one (1) year prior to the date of the election held on May 20, 2014.

All qualified voters residing in the City of Jamestown who are registered voters and still reside in the same location, or all qualified voters residing outside the City of Jamestown but within the confines of school districts formerly known as Kiantone #3 and Busti #7 and who still reside at the same address are entitled to vote at the annual school election.
