Shinagawa made an appearance in Jamestown on April 16 2012 to tour the city and receive an endorsement from Jamestown Mayor Sam Teresi. Shinagawa also fields questions from local reporters. He is vying for to run on the Democratic ticket this coming November against Tom Reed (R-Corning) for the newly drawn 23rd Congressional District.
