A Jamestown golf coach and Mayville swimmer will be part of the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in Minnesota.
Local representation on Team New York includes 25-year old Nicholas Kenzie of Mayville and 61-year old Kevin Anderson of Jamestown.
Nick has participated in various sports with Special Olympics New York for over 10 years. He feels extremely lucky to be attending, and is looking forward to being recognized as an athlete nationally.
Kevin has been coaching with Special Olympics since 2010, including swimming, golf, and bocce. He’s enthusiastic about attending his third USA Games with athletes and coaches from around the country.
The two delegates from Chautauqua County will join more than 80 of their peers from New York State to face off against elite athletes from all 50 states in one of the largest and most inclusive sporting events in the country. More than 3,000 athletes and 1,500 coaches will compete, cheered on by an estimated 75,000 fans.
The 2026 Special Olympics USA Games takes place June 20 through 26 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
These local athletes, unified partners and coaches have trained for years for this opportunity. Their participation in the USA Games reflects not only athletic excellence but also the spirit of inclusion, determination, and community that defines Special Olympics.
