United Way Campaign at 59 Percent

November 20, 2015 By WRFA Radio Leave a Comment

UnitedWayLogo-FeatureJAMESTOWN – The 2015 Campaign for United Way of Southern Chautauqua County surpassed 59 percent of its $1,300,000 goal on Friday.

“Next Wednesday is the official deadline for workplace campaigns to report in and submit their packets,” said Hans Auer, Campaign Chair. “We encourage all of the coordinators at each worksite to contact United Way with an update on their progress.”

“As many people know, the United Way Campaign is coordinated by a team of volunteers. Those individuals have been working extremely hard to reach new audiences,” said Auer. “We are proud of the priorities that United Way is focused on and want to make sure that prospective donors understand how their dollars will be put to work right here.”

United Way of Southern Chautauqua County recently identified four strategic objectives to guide all of its funding decisions: families are self-sufficient, everyone is ready to work, young people succeed in school and people in need can find help.

“Donors are connecting with our strategic objectives and it is impacting their decision to give,” said Tory Irgang, Executive Director.

While the 2015 Campaign is on target right now and even a little ahead of pace, there are some concerns.

“We are facing challenges at a couple of our key workplace campaigns. We are asking individuals and business owners who have not historically supported United Way to consider making a donation this year,” said Irgang. “Anyone can donate by visiting our website and making an online gift or by calling our office and requesting a pledge form.”

“We will succeed in reaching our goal because that is what this community does – we pull together and make things happen,” added Auer. “Our team will be reaching out to loyal and prospective donors to ask for help making that happen. I am confident the response will close any gaps we may have.”
