CHAUTAUQUA – A couple from Williamsville, NY suffered injuries over the weekend after getting into an accident while snowmobiling in the town of Chautauqua.
According to Sheriff deputies, the incident took place at about 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Deputies say 51 year-old Elizabeth Oswald was riding along a trail and had Stopped her snowmobile in the area of a blind hill crest. Her snowmobile was then hit from behind by 52 year-old Eric Oswald, who was following behind her and could not stop in time to avoid a collision.
Elizabeth Oswald suffered a leg injury was treated at the scene and released. Eric Oswald suffered a head injury and was transported to Hammot Hospital in Erie for treatment. His condition is not known and no charges were filed.
