MORNING NEWS: Police Locate Jamestown Man Wanted in Connection to Lakewood Hit-and-Run

September 12, 2013 By WRFA Leave a Comment

LAKEWOOD – The Jamestown man wanted for his alleged involvement in a hit-and-run incident on Fairmount Ave. late last week is now in police custody. Authorities in Lakewood say 38 year-old Victor Cameron was arraigned Wednesday morning in the town of Busti Court and sent to Chautauqua County Jail without bail.

Cameron is accused of driving a car that was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle on Fairmount Ave. near Walmart at 5p.m. Friday. The incident involved serious injuries to at least one person. Before first-responders and police could arrive on the scene, Cameron allegedly fled on foot.

On Monday, Police asked the public’s help in location Cameron and received several tips over the next 24 hours. He was eventually located and charged with first-degree felony aggravated unlicensed operation, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and failure to yield the right of way.

He will return to court in October.
