JAMESTOWN – It’s time once again to take out the trash during BPU Spring Clean-up, during the week of May 5 – 9.
Place clean-up items at the curb – in bags when possible — after 6 p.m. the night before your normal garbage pick-up day. Items should weigh 40 pounds or less so that one employee can carry them.
Examples of items to place at the curb: clothes, dishes, chairs, small pieces of carpet, lamps, toys, garden hoses.
If you have special or larger items such as electronics, air conditioners, couches or refrigerators, call the Garbage Hotline for an appointment and pricing. There is a fee for leaving large items at the curb with or without an appointment.
No wood, metal or yard waste will be accepted during spring clean up. Instead, take yard waste to the Monroe St. Yard Waste Site. To access the Site, BPU residential solid waste customers may pick up a free 2014 sticker from Customer Service.
There will also be no recycling during spring clean-up.
