MAYVILLE – Chautauqua County Executive Vince Horrigan has announced Chautauqua County Director of Finance Susan Marsh will retire from her position effective January 31, 2017.

Marsh was appointed director on April 9, 2012 following a 30-year career in financial management.

“I have enjoyed working for the County for the past four and a half years,” said Marsh. “It has been a pleasure working with the past two County Executives and helping to move this County forward.  Thank you for the opportunity to serve this County. I will miss all of you.”

“Susan has done a tremendous job while serving as the county’s chief fiscal officer,” said Horrigan. “During this time, she worked under two county executives, provided financial guidance in the completion of five county budgets, served as a board member of the Chautauqua Tobacco Asset Securitization Corporation, and significantly strengthened Chautauqua County’s financial position. She will be greatly missed and I wish her and her husband all of the best in retirement.”

Horrigan has begun the process of finding a replacement and will establish a bi-partisan search committee to help him find the most qualified individual to serve as the new director.
