UPDATE [10:41 a.m.]: The Jamestown Police Department is reporting Tuesday morning that the fire officials are ruling that arson is the cause of the Monday morning fire at 23 Ivy St. Police say the suspect or suspects may have suffered burns as a result of setting the fire and anyone who may have information into the incident is asked to call police at 483-7531 or the department’s anonymous tip line at 483-8477.

JAMESTOWN – Jamestown fire investigators are continuing to look for the cause of a Monday morning fire that destroyed a physician’s office and medical complex on the city’s south side.

According to a published report, city firefighters were called to the Krempa Medical Associates building at 23 Ivy St. – near the intersection with Foote and Cole Ave. – at about 2:30 a.m. Crews spent much of the morning battling the fire but due to the size and scope, they spent much of their effort on preventing it from spreading. The building was completely destroyed and investigators were looking for a cause by late Monday morning.

No injuries were reported and portions of Foote Avenue was closed during the morning and early afternoon.
