JAMESTOWN – Two men are facing robbery and assault charges following an incident that took place early Friday morning on the railroad tracks in Jamestown.
Jamestown Police say 25 year-old James Miller and 45 year-old Robert Ruper are accused of tackling a 58-year-old male victim to the ground and allegedly taking a small amount of crash. The incident took place early Friday near Center and Crane Streets. Police were called in to investigate and spotted Miller, who allegedly tossed the cash on the ground when police arrived on the scene. Following an investigation, the two were arrested. The victim, who’s name was not released, was transported to WCA Hospital for treatment for a broken hip.
Miller and Ruper are facing several charges including robbery, assault and trespass. They were scheduled for arraignment Friday in city court.
