JAMESTOWN – Three city residents are in police custody following an investigation into a shooting incident that took place on the city’s south side early Sunday morning.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers investigated a reported shooting that took place around 4:30 a.m. Sunday at 81 Hazzard St., where one subject fired a shot at another with a pistol during an altercation. Officers at the scene determined that the shot was fired by 20 year-old Emil Deprospo, who reportedly fled the scene prior to police arrival. Police continued their investigation into the incident and at about 4:20 p.m. Monday officers conducted a search warrant at 75 Barker St. in an attempt to locate evidence from the shooting. Inside officers located Deprospo and took him into custody for an outstanding warrant for 1st degree Attempted Assault.

The search of the residence also located a quantity of powder cocaine, marijuana, prescription pills, packaging material, and drug paraphernalia. As a result, Deprospo and two other individuals who were also in the residence – 17 year-old Donald Dean Jr. and 18 year-old Kevin Philbrick – were each charged with 3rd degree felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 2 counts of 7th degree Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance, and Criminal Using Drug Paraphernalia. Dean was charged additionally with 4th degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, due to a stun gun being found inside the residence.
