Chautauqua County SheriffMAYVILLE – Two Chautauqua County men are in the county jail on $15,000 bail following an investigation into metal theft in the town of Stockton.

Chautauqua County Sheriff deputies say 21 year-old Justin Peck of Stockton and 20 year-old Jacob VanDeWark of Jamestown are accused of stealing aluminum siding from two camping trailers road the Town of Stockton in early May.

Sheriff Deputies say a concerned neighbor caught the two allegedly committing the theft and called the police. A further investigation found the two had also allegedly broken into other Stockton homes and stole items ranging from an ATV, motorcycle, copper wiring, tools, and a .22 rifle.

Both Peck and VanDeWark face numerous charges, including 2nd degree burglary, Criminal Trespass 2nd, Criminal Mischief 4th and Petit larceny.

The two were arrested last week and arraigned in Stockton court and sent to the county jail.
