MORNING NEWS: City Police Seeking Public’s Help in Roberry, Accident

August 1, 2013 By WRFA Leave a Comment

JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect who robbed the Papa John’s pizza shop on W. Third St. late Wednesday night.

According to the Jamestown Post-Journal, police say the incident took place shortly after 10 p.m. when a male wearing a blue hoodie with white lettering on it displayed a gun in the restaurant and asked for money. The man was allegedly wearing a black mask and blue jeans, was approximately 6 feet tall and weighed 180 pounds.

And city police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a vehicle believed to have contributed to a high-speed crash Monday night. Police say witnesses saw two vehicles traveling eastbound on Fairmount Avenue around 10:30 p.m. at high rates of speed.

One of the vehicles, a red Chevrolet sedan, lost control near Meadow Lane and struck a tree. The front passenger – who has yet to be identified – was ejected and later flown by helicopter to Hamot Medical Center in Erie. The other occupant, who’s name is also not being released, was taken to WCA Hospital. According to witnesses, the second vehicle involved was a blue Chevrolet Malibu.

Police are asking the public’s assistance in identifying the driver of the blue sedan for questioning.

Anyone with information into either incident is asked to call Jamestown police at 483-7531 or the department’s anonymous tip line at 483-8477.
