27 Projects in Chautauqua County to Receive Over $6 Million in State Funding

Economic Development Council RegionsALBANY – The 2015 Regional Economic Development Council on Thursday announced the Chautauqua County projects that will receive funding through its 2015 Consolidated Funding Application process.

Below is a listing of all projects that applied for funding, along with how much that was requested and also how much each received. They are split into three categories: Those receiving the full funding amount requested, those receiving partial funding requested, and those that requested funding but did not receive any.

Projects Receiving Full Funding Requested

  • National Comedy Center Marketing (National Comedy Center) – $525,000 requested, received $525,000
  • National Comedy Center Park (National Comedy Center) – $325,000 requested, received $500,000
  • STRIVE Jamestown 2015 (Jamestown Renaissance Corporation) – $500,000 requested, received $500,000
  • Chautauqua Lake Tributary Stabilization Program – Dutch Hollow Creek (Chaut. Co) – $482,179 requested, received $482,179
  • Chautauqua Lake Tributary Stabilization Program – West Dutch Hollow Creek (Chaut. Co) – $275,888 requested, received $275,888
  • Destination Hotel (Chaut. Harbor Hotel LLC) – $255,000 requested, received $255,000
  • South County Industrial Park Expansion in Town of Ellicott (Chaut. Co.)  – $200,000 requested, received $200,000
  • Welch Trail Recreation Area (Town of Westfield) – $200,000 requested, received $200,000
  • Trail Groomer (Ellery Sno-Cruiser) – $176,000 requested, received $176,000
  • Walnut Creek Restoration (Chaut. Co. Soil and Water Conservation District) – $167,250 requested, received $167,250
  • Chautauqua Lake Tributary Stabilization Program – Bemus Creek (Chaut. Co.) – $151,200 requested, received $151,200
  • Libera Workforce Investment Project (Libera) – $75,910 requested, received $75,910
  • Chaut. Creek Restoration (Chaut. Co. Soil and water Conservation District) – received $81,000
  • Chautauqua Lake Tributary Stabilization Program – Ball Creek (Chaut. Co.) – $66,174 requested, received $66,174
  • Chautauqua Lake Tributary Stabilization Program – Prendergast Creek (Chaut. Co.) – $58,039 requested, received $58,039
  • Chautauqua County Erosion Control Improvements (Chaut. Co. Soil and Water Conservation district) – received $55,000
  • Northern Chautauqua County LWRP Phase II (Chaut. Co.) – $50,000 requested, received $50,000
  • Chautauqua Lake Tributary Stabilization Program – Goose Creek (Chaut. Co.) – $39,690 requested, received $39,690
  • E-Works in Dunkirk (Support Enterprise, Inc.) – $165,000 Total Cost / $33,000 requested from ESD, received $33,000
  • North Chautauqua Lake Sewer District Expansion Study (AECOM) – $30,000 requested, received $30,000
  • Workforce/Program Development (Chaut. Regional Youth Ballet) – $27,000 requested, received $27,000

Projects Receiving Partial Funding

  • Destination Hotel in Celoron (Chaut. Harbor Hotel LLC) – $2,830,708 requested, received $1,653,000
  • Nation Comedy Center Connector (National Comedy Center) – $1,500,000 requested, received $1,000,000
  • JCC Manufacturing Technology Institute Expansion (JCC) – $985,750 requested, received $980,000
  • Fredonia Technology Incubator (SUNY Fredonia) – $375,000 requested, received $125,000
  • Sewer Extension for West Side Chaut. Lake (South & Center Chaut. Lake Sewer Districts) – $100,000 requested, received $50,000
  • WRFA Multimedia Studio / Marquee Upgrade (Reg Lenna) – $93,820 requested, received $24,700

Projects Receiving No Funding

  • Frewsburg Water System Planning Study (Town of Carroll) – $50,000 requested
  • South and Central Chautauqua Lake Sewer District POTW Improvements (Chaut. Co.) – $2,500,000 requested
  • City of Dunkirk NY Main Street Program (Dunkirk) – $500,000 requested
  • Winter Garden Plaza Phase II (Jamestown Renaissance Corporation) – $111,297 requested
  • Workforce Investment (N. Chaut. Co. Boys and Girls Club) – $42,000 requested
  • Lucille Ball Memorial Park Improvements (Celoron) – $120,150 requested
  • Groomer Replacement (Chaut. Lake Snowmobile Cllub) – $191,013 requested
  • Euclid Gardens Renovations (CODE) – $351,390 requested
  • Rec Center Study (Dunkirk) – $20,000 requested
  • WNY Excursion Train Study (JURA) – $30,000 requested
  • Collection System Study (Village of Westfield) – $30,000 requested
