David Marracino

STOW – A Westfield resident faces felony charges for illegally selling a firearm to undercover agents.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies say the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force arrested 57-year-old David Marracino Monday afternoon in Stow on charges of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, Criminal Sale of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.

According to the media release sent by authorities, Marracino sold the AR-15 style assault rifle, three high capacity magazines, and quantity of steel jacketed ammunition to the undercover officer. When Marracino was taken into custody he was found to also be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.

Marracino was arraigned and then sent to the Chautauqua County Jail on bail pending further action of the court.

The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force is comprised of investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Dunkirk Police Department.

Authorities continue to ask members of the community to call when they observe suspicious or narcotics related activity in their neighborhoods at either 800-344-8702 or 363-0313.
